PREcovery is a citrus-flavored, complex carbohydrate drink that is consumed up to 2 hours* prior to surgery. It is designed to meet the fluid and carbohydrate loading component of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS®) protocols. PREcovery® minimizes the body’s stress response to surgery while improving patient outcomes and decreasing hospital costs.

When to Drink PREcovery?

In general, it is recommended that PREcovery be consumed:

• The evening before surgery (2 packages of PREcovery), and
• The morning of surgery (1 package of PREcovery up to 2 hours before anesthesia).

How to Prepare PREcovery?

Mix 1 package of PREcovery into 13.5 fl oz (400 mL) of water. Drink entire contents immediately within 20 minutes.

Precautions & Contraindications

• Not suitable for individuals with delayed gastric emptying or comorbidity that affects gastric emptying.
• Not for intravenous use.
• Not suitable as a sole source of nutrition.
• Not suitable for individuals with type 1 diabetes.
• Not suitable for use in children under 1 year of age.
